A Wunderkammer (German for “cabinet of wonders”) was an early form of museum popular in Europe during the 16th–18th centuries. These collections brought together unusual, rare, or beautiful objects - anything from natural specimens and scientific instruments to artworks and curiosities.
Rather than being organised like modern museums, a Wunderkammer was about awe and storytelling: a personal, often eclectic display meant to reflect the collector’s sense of wonder about the world.
Each of the Story Stools in the Wunderkammer collection is inspired by objects, mosaics, books, galleries and antiques that have crossed my path.

I’ve always loved a haiku, for me the seventeen syllables can capture entire worlds. Like great design, they balance precision and space, showing us that artistic expression can come from restraint, not excess.
Each of the Story Stools in the Haikuriosity collection is derived from a haiku, inviting the owner of the piece to dive deeper into the meaning behind the embroidered motifs.
